ABOUT

Founded in 1987 Great Lakes Brewery was originally known for its Unicorn Ale and Great Lakes Lager. As time went on they began to brew smaller batch experimental beers including their 666 Devils Pale Ale. Quickly noticing how popular these experimental brews were with their customers, Great Lakes began offering new styles of beer monthly and helped to bring about the Craft Beer boom in Ontario. Great Lakes Brewery now has two locations, their production facility and taproom in Etobicoke and their brewpub located in downtown Toronto. They are avid supporters of community initiatives. You will find them at almost every major Toronto festival in the summer and they also run multiple fundraising events for the Daily Bread Food Bank.

BEERS

Here are some of our favourite beers that you will find at Great Lakes Brewery

  • Pompous Ass English Ale - 4.2%
    • Pompous Ass has all of the characteristics of a proper english style ale with notes of toffee, raisin, caramel and tea but with an American twist through the use of US hops that provide a subtle citrus note.

  • Pumpkin Ale - 5.5%

    • Of all the pumpkin beers out there, the Great Lakes Pumpkin Ale is by far the best. Made with real pumpkin and spices (rather than extract) this beer is best enjoyed during the harvest and halloween season!

  • Meanwhile Down in Moxee - 6.5%

    • This New England style IPA is extremely hazy in appearance and has lots of melon, pear, peach aroma and flavour
